Parent Partnership Seminar: Shepherding the Heart of Your Athlete 

NEW DATE: Parent Partnership Seminar — October 21

We’re excited about our upcoming Parent Partnership Seminar, Shepherding the Heart of Your Athlete, and we want to make it possible for as many of our NBCA families as possible to join us. With that in mind, we are moving the seminar from October 7 to Wednesday, October 21, from 7:00–8:00 PM in the NBCA Gym.

If you’ve already registered, you’re all set! Your registration will automatically carry over to the new date, and there is no need to register again.

Sports can be an incredible classroom for developing character, confidence, resilience, and maturity, and this seminar will equip parents with practical tools to help their children navigate pressure, adversity, success, and disappointment while protecting and strengthening the parent-child relationship. You don’t have to be the parent of an athlete to benefit! These principles apply to kids of all ages and to challenges far beyond sports.

We hope this new date allows even more of our families to join us as we continue partnering together in the growth and formation of our students.

NBCA Elementary Counselor

For October we are moving into our second Friendzy unit, Love At All Times. This unit challenges the way we think about love. It’s easy to love the lovable, but it can be tough to love someone who is unkind, cranky, or rude. God’s Word instructs us to love all the time—not just sometimes. Friendzy will challenge and equip your child to show compassion and kindness ALL the time, even when it’s hard.

With more families expected to join us this year, we're introducing a new check-in process to help keep our students as safe as possible, and we need your help sharing it with your grandparents/special guests.

Complete the registration form for grandparents or guests who plan to attend: Grandparent's Chapel Registration Form (closes Tues at midnight)

On chapel day, grandparents will check in at a sign-in table outside the gate, where we'll check them off the list, provide them with a name tag, and let them in.

To help us avoid long lines at the office, please complete the registration form as soon as you can.

Please do not park inside the gate as this is reserved for our teachers. We will have golf carts making the rounds to pick up our special guests. We recognize parking within the neighborhood is difficult and we appreciate everyone being courteous of our neighbors.

TAKING STUDENTS HOME AFTER CHAPEL

Grandparents are welcome and encouraged to take students home after chapel by signing them out with their homeroom teacher, and this will not be counted as an "early sign out" for attendance purposes. Any grandparent or guest taking a student home must be listed as an authorized pickup contact in FACTS prior to Grandparents Chapel.

If you need help to add a grandparent or guest as an authorized pickup contact, please email LChilds@nbcatx.org.

If a grandparent is attending both chapels and wants to take home students from each, the younger student(s) will return to their classroom after the first chapel, and the grandparent can pick them up after the second chapel.

Lunch

As a reminder, per the handbook, no food deliveries from restaurants or delivery services are allowed for students.

Please add funds to your student's lunch account before placing an order.

Accounts with an outstanding balance will be locked, and no additional orders will be placed until the balance is paid.

Once your balance is paid, please contact Nanette Jones at njones@nbcatx.org so she can unlock your account.

Happy Sunday afternoon NBCA elementary families,

I cannot believe we are already moving into our final week of the quarter, and thus, our final week before the fall break! We are going to be moving over into our new space very soon.

Grandparents chapel(s) are this Friday, October 9. See note in the newsletter with details about this fun tradition.

What a tremendous blessing it has been to serve here at NBCA in this first quarter.  I am grateful for such a supportive and loving group of families.

Thanks for partnering with our team in Christian education.  May the Lord bless you and keep you.  May His face shine upon you and grant you His grace.

LUNCH

Friendly reminder to please make sure funds are available in your student’s lunch account before placing an order. If an account has an outstanding balance, it will be temporarily locked and additional lunch orders cannot be placed until the balance has been paid. Thank you for helping us keep the lunch ordering process running smoothly!
